If – like most people – you’ve been spending a lot more time indoors than you’re used to, you’re probably getting tired of the same old scenery. Why not mix it up a little bit by giving a room or two a fresh coat of paint? While – like most things – you’ll get a better end product by hiring a professional, painting a room in your house is a relatively simple DIY project that’s great for the winter!

If you decide to go for it, we’d recommend doing a little bit of research before you head to the store. Consider what type of paint and tools you’ll need. For example, latex-based and oil-based paints may look similar, but they have very different uses. Plastic drop cloths may be much cheaper, but fabric drop cloths are reusable and less prone to tears. These are just a couple of things to keep in mind, but don’t let a little research scare you – you can do a great job!
